Rachel Song has a master of applied science in mechanical engineering from the University of Toronto. She has been keenly involved in several cutting-edge research projects, including novel power systems driven by renewable energy, off-gas detection and quantification in steel-making furnaces, and combustion optimization and pollution control in advanced research centres and laboratories.
Upon completing her master’s degree, Rachel launched her career at a cleantech startup company at MaRS Incubator. Along with her co-workers, she is developing innovative de-icing technologies to introduce the next generation of eco-friendly, energy-saving ice-management systems to the HVAC and refrigeration industry.
Born in Xi’an, China, Rachel has found her second home in Toronto. She’s been constantly learning and growing in this vibrant and multicultural city.
