Nirooya Sivapalan has an honours bachelor of science in cell and molecular biology from the University of Toronto and a master of science in immunology from McMaster University.
Niroo works as the health and safety officer for Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI) at Sunnybrook Hospital. In this role she is responsible for program and policy development, as well as the implementation of SRI’s health and safety management system. She has over five years of research experience, which includes disease mechanism research at the Firestone Institute of Respiratory Health in Hamilton and research in non-invasive treatments for cancer with the focused ultrasound group at Sunnybrook Hospital.
Niroo was born and raised in Toronto and is a StartingBloc NY 2017 Fellow.
